US Marshals shoot and kill one of NY’s most wanted fugitives and suspect in livestreamed church robbery

U.S. Marshals in New Jersey shot and killed one of New York’s most wanted fugitives on Wednesday following an arrest attempt related to armed robbery.

Shamar Leggette was allegedly involved in the 2022 livestreamed robbery of Brooklyn bishop Lamor Whitehead, and he died after he opened fire on law enforcement at an MHO Inn and Suites in Monmouth Junction, according to a report.

Leggette, a 41-year-old career criminal, began shooting after authorities surrounded the hotel with the intention of taking him into custody.

U.S. Marshals attempting to arrest a suspect wanted in the 2022 robbery of so-called “Bling Bishop” Lamor Miller-Whitehead in Brooklyn shot and killed the man as he fired at law enforcement this afternoon.
