Kyrsten Sinema refuses to reveal her plans as key deadline looms: ‘Not thinking about that’

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) still won’t say whether she’s running for reelection, deflecting in interviews and turning the focus back to legislation in Arizona

If Sinema launches a reelection bid ahead of Arizona’s filing deadline on April 8, the Democrat-turned-independent will join Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) and Republican Kari Lake in a closely watched three-way race. 

“I’m not thinking about that at all right now. You know what I am thinking [about]? The border,”  Sinema said in an interview with Politico

As the 2024 election season heats up, Sinema is focusing on immigration and border security, blaming “extreme partisans” and a lack of federal government support to address the ongoing crisis affiliating border towns such as  San Luis and Yuma.
