Hunter Biden to appear for deposition with Congress in February

House Republicans plan to question Hunter Biden in a closed-door deposition on Feb. 28, a date that comes after months of negotiations about the terms for interviewing the GOP’s star impeachment witness.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) and Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) announced the plans in a statement Thursday, indicating their committees would jointly conduct the interview of President Joe Biden‘s son when he appears.

“His deposition will come after several interviews with Biden family members and associates. We look forward to Hunter Biden’s testimony,” the chairmen said.

They also noted forthcoming plans to interview Biden family business associates Mervyn Yan and Rob Walker next week, and Eric Schwerin the following week.

Settling on a date to question Hunter Biden comes after Comer and Jordan initially subpoenaed him in November.
