Court reinstates ban on Apple Watches with blood oxygen tracker

A federal court has banned the sale of new Apple Watches in the United States on the grounds the blood oxygen trackers of the watches violate the intellectual property rights of the medical technology company Masimo.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit ruled on Wednesday that it would reinstate its ban on selling the Apple Watch Series 9 and the Apple Watch Ultra 2. This will stop the company from selling any new models of the Series 9 and Ultra 2 in the U.S. because of the blood oxygen trackers.

Apple will now have to remove or disable the trackers from its latest watches if it wants to sell products in the U.S.
