Stimulus update: Direct payment from Alaska fund worth $1,312 to be sent to some in two days

Some Alaska residents who have yet to receive their check from the Permanent Fund Dividend for 2023 and are eligible to get one will receive their payment in two days.

The residents who will receive their payment on Thursday include those who had the “Eligible-Not Paid” status by Wednesday and have not received their 2023 or earlier PFD payment. The state began sending its payments from the program for 2023 to eligible residents in October.

The Permanent Fund Dividend program offers residents an annual payment based on Alaska’s mineral revenues for that year. An applicant must intend to remain a resident of Alaska indefinitely and not be a convicted felon, among other requirements, to qualify for the program.

Applications for the 2024 Permanent Fund Dividend are open to eligible residents until March 31. Alaskans may fill out an application online
