Speaker Johnson raises $10.6 million in first quarter as speaker

EXCLUSIVE – Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) raised $10.6 million in his first quarter as speaker, a stunning turnaround from bringing in just over half that amount in his entire congressional career.

The $10.6 million is spread out across three committees associated with Johnson, his main campaign account, his Leadership PAC American Revival PAC, and his joint fundraising committee Grow the Majority, according to numbers obtained by the Washington Examiner.

The Federal Election Commission’s fourth quarter of 2023 started on Oct. 1, which was before Johnson was elected speaker on Oct. 25, and lasted until Dec. 31.

Before becoming an unexpected speaker after the ouster of former Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), Johnson had raised just $5.5 million since he was first elected to Congress in 2016.
