Mike Johnson calls for federal employees who participate in pro-Palestinian walkout to be fired

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) said that federal employees who take part in a planned walkout in protest of the Biden administration’s Israel policy should be fired.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Johnson responded to a story on the planned walkout, expected to take place on Tuesday, by promising to work with House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) to ensure that federal agencies initiate “appropriate disciplinary proceedings” against all participants.

“Any government worker who walks off the job to protest U.S. support for our ally Israel is ignoring their responsibility and abusing the trust of taxpayers. They deserve to be fired,” Johnson said. “Oversight Chairman Comer and I will be working together to ensure that each federal agency initiates appropriate disciplinary proceedings against any person who walks out on their job.”
