John Kerry will leave Biden administration to help president’s reelection campaign: Report

John Kerry is reportedly leaving his post as the special presidential envoy for climate to help with the Biden reelection campaign.

Kerry, the former secretary of state and Democratic nominee for president in 2004, says serving on President Joe Biden‘s campaign and helping him get reelected is the “single biggest” action that can be made this year for climate progress at home and globally.

A source close to the Biden administration told Axios that Kerry, 80, plans to leave his current post within the State Department to tout Biden’s climate accomplishments and highlight the actions still necessary in the incumbent’s possible second term.

On Wednesday, Kerry reportedly met with Biden in the Oval Office to discuss Biden’s record on climate, including the COP28 climate summit last month in Dubai.
