Stimulus update: Direct payment from Alaska fund worth $1,312 to be sent to some in eight days

Some eligible Alaskans who have yet to receive their 2023 checks from the state’s Permanent Fund Dividend will get their annual payment in eight days.

The Alaska Department of Revenue is sending out checks to residents who are eligible for the annual PFD payment but did not receive it during the first four disbursements in just over one week. Payments from the program for 2023 began going out to eligible residents in October.

The checks from the state being sent on Jan. 18 will go to those who had the “Eligible-Not Paid” status by Wednesday and have yet to receive their PFD check from 2023 or earlier.

Residents in the state can apply for the 2024 Permanent Fund Dividend until March 31 by filling out an application online or via paper form. To be eligible for the annual program, an applicant must intend to remain a resident of
