Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY) was feeling the heat ahead of her State of the State address Tuesday.
All eyes were on the governor of New York as she laid out her plans for the state, unfolding against the backdrop of a migrant crisis roiling the state’s largest city, surging crime, and high housing costs. Those fights are happening while New York takes center stage in the contest for control of the House of Representatives.
“The road to a Democratic Congress absolutely runs through New York, and we embrace that challenge and opportunity,” Hochul told Sirius XM’s POTUS Politics last month. “And I’ll look forward to, one year from now, making sure that Hakeem Jeffries becomes the speaker of the House of Representatives.”
