Bacharach’s songs were instantly memorable and addictively hummable but his work was far from ‘easy’

Composer Burt Bacharach – perhaps best known for his Oscar-winning song Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head – has died aged 94.

Hailed as one of the greatest songwriters of the 20th century, he wrote more than 500 songs, which were performed by more than 1,200 different artists, across his seven-decade career.
