Democratic Texas Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee was not happy when a mother began documenting a Tuesday hearing on Capitol Hill regarding discrimination and critical race theory on her phone.
Asra Nomani, a mother who was serving as a witness in the hearing, caught Lee off guard when the congresswoman looked up to see a phone out and recording
.
“We are problem solvers. We are grateful that the courts have responded to perceived discrimination, but in any event, what I would clearly say — you need to put down your camera,” Lee said
. “Please, you need to put down your camera. You need to put down your camera.”
