Two National Guard members injured in Minneapolis shooting

Two National Guard members were wounded after shots were fired early Sunday morning in Minneapolis at a city police department neighborhood security team.

The Minnesota National Guard said the drive-by shooting happened at approximately 4:19 a.m. local time when a light-colored SUV fired several shots at a team of Guard and law enforcement officers providing neighborhood security amid the ongoing trial of former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin, who is charged with killing George Floyd, a black man, last May.

One injured Guardsman sustained injuries from shattered glass due to the incident and was taken to a local medical facility. The other had superficial injuries, according
