Psaki distances Biden from Maxine Waters call to get ‘more confrontational’ if Chauvin acquitted

The White House is contradicting Democratic calls for protesters to become “more confrontational” if a Minnesota jury acquits Derek Chauvin, the former police officer charged with the death of George Floyd.

President Joe Biden believes any demonstrations must remain peaceful, as his administration liaises with Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, mayors, and other local authorities behind-the-scenes while prosecutors and defense attorneys make their closing arguments in the high-profile trial, according to White House press secretary Jen Psaki.
