Sen. Thom Tillis, a North Carolina Republican, had surgery to treat prostate cancer.
The 60-year-old senator had the procedure earlier this week, he said Thursday. He announced the diagnosis on March 29, which is when he shared the news of the surgery. At that time, he said the cancer “was detected relatively early.”
“This week, I underwent surgery to treat prostate cancer. I’m thankful to the doctors and nurses who have provided me with outstanding care at every step of the way,” he said
