BREAKING: Capitol on Lockdown After Car Smashes Into Barricade, Reports of Shots Fired

The Capitol Building was placed on lockdown Friday after a car smashed into a barricade and there were reports of shots fired.

Capitol Police said a suspect rammed his car into a barricade on Constitution Avenue, injuring two Capitol Police officers, who are now being treated for injuries. A suspect was taken into custody, police said.

“Capitol: External security threat, no entry or exit is permitted, stay away from exterior windows, doors. If outside, seek cover. USCP,” read the message.
