Biden holds moment of silence as US coronavirus death toll passes 500,000

President Biden offered a personal message to people who are grieving loved ones as the COVID-19 death toll passed 500,000 on Monday, the highest in the world.

He said it would be painful, but he knew from his own experience losing immediately family members that healing means remembering those who have died.

“And it’s also important to do that as a nation,” he said. “Those who have lost loved ones, here’s what I know: They’re never truly gone. They’ll always be part of your heart.”
