Inside the latest US-Russia dispute: Alleged ‘disconnection of telephone lines’ for Moscow’s diplomats

A new fissure has opened in the contentious U.S.-Russia relationship, driven by Moscow’s claim that U.S. officials have disconnected telephone lines used by its diplomats in New York.

“We address Washington once again … to take all the necessary measures to restore normal communication for our diplomats in New York,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Thursday. “I would like to underscore that many people who come to the Consulate General are U.S. citizens. You complicate life for them, as well.”
