Clemson vs. Florida State football game postponed at last minute over coronavirus protocols

A clash between two NCAA football stalwarts was scrapped hours before kickoff on Saturday after the two teams’ medical staff failed to agree on the conditions that would allow the game to go forward.

Clemson University’s athletic director Dan Radakovich said the team was “disappointed” with the decision after doing everything possible to mitigate the fears of Florida State University’s staff following a positive COVID-19 test for a Clemson player who practiced with the team earlier in the week.

“Clemson has followed all of the ACC’s protocol in preparation for this game,” Radakovich tweeted. “We look ahead to returning to action next week against Pitt for Senior Day
