Facebook pauses recommendations for political groups ahead of Election Day

Ahead of the election, Facebook has temporarily disabled its algorithm that recommends politically affiliated Facebook groups to users.

It’s unclear when the change went into effect, but Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg mentioned it in response to questions from Massachusetts Sen. Ed Markey during testimony at a Senate hearing with the CEOs of Facebook, Twitter, and Google about content moderation and censorship on social media and Google’s search engine.
