Republican Senate nominee in Minnesota rushed to hospital with ‘severe internal hernia’

Minnesota Republican Senate nominee Jason Lewis was hospitalized and rushed into surgery, according to his campaign.

The 65-year-old candidate was taken into surgery on Monday morning for “a severe internal hernia” after he went to the hospital with “severe abdominal pain,” Lewis’s campaign manager Tom Szymanski announced in a press release posted on Twitter Monday. The candidate previously served one term in the House, representing Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District from 2017 to 2019.
