Liberia-born Minnesota state Senate candidate says ‘something’s up’ with ‘anti-American rhetoric in the media’

A Liberian refugee running as a Republican for the Minnesota state Senate said he’s had enough of “anti-American rhetoric in the media.”

“I always wondered why people wanted to come to America and what makes America different from other places because growing up in Africa, people would talk about America with joy and a glow,” Alexander Buster Deputie told Fox News.

Deputie moved to the United States from Liberia in 1993 and said he saw “all the anti-American rhetoric in the media and in the culture” and thought, “‘Something’s up.'”
