No one intervened when R. Kelly was beaten in a Chicago prison in late August, the musician’s attorneys said.
“No one raised a finger” to stop the attack, they said in a Friday court filing. The attacker, who identified himself as Jeremiah Farmer, “roamed a great distance within the [Metropolitan Correctional Center] before carrying out that act, without any opposition. It is undisputed that, as a result, Mr. Kelly has suffered significant physical and psychological injuries.”
Kelly was arrested in 2019 on 13 counts of federal child pornography, racketeering, and obstruction. The singer also faces a separate five-count indictment from the Eastern District of New York that charged
