‘There’s so much at stake’: Biden reframes general election as Supreme Court fight

2020 Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden dropped his usual pitch for bipartisanship, ripping top Senate Republicans for their perceived hypocrisy regarding Supreme Court appointments in election years.

Biden, the two-term vice president and 36-year Delaware senator, on Sunday hit President Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell over their decision to fill the Supreme Court seat vacated by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death Friday “without delay” before the Nov. 3 general election.

“To jam this nomination through the Senate is just an exercise in raw political power, and I don’t believe the people of this nation will stand for it,” Biden told reporters Sunday in Philadelphia.
