Pittsburgh Steelers kick off season by holding ‘Steelers Against Racism’ banner during national anthem

Players for the Pittsburgh Steelers held a banner reading “Steelers Against Racism” while the national anthem played ahead of their Monday night game.

“We stand together against racism. #ItTakesAllOfUs,” the team tweeted, accompanied by a photo of players with the banner. All players stood while holding the banner during the anthem.

The team also announced that each player will wear helmets showing the name Antwon Rose Jr., who was shot and killed in East Pittsburgh in 2018 by police.
