GOP senators seek concealed carry privileges for federal judges and prosecutors amid increased threats

A group of Republican senators wants to expand concealed carry privileges for federal judges and prosecutors due to the increase in threats and violence that have come with the nature of those jobs.

Sens. Tom Cotton, Marsha Blackburn, and Kelly Loeffler introduced a bill that would allow current and retired state, local, and federal prosecutors and judges to carry concealed firearms. The Protect Our Prosecutors and Judges Act would expand the privileges of having firearm protection currently in place for current and retired law enforcement officers.
