Incoming journalism dean facing allegations of targeting black students and female broadcasters for their on-air appearance

Arizona State University is investigating its newly appointed dean of its journalism school over allegations of targeting students of color.

Concerns rose to light after a student posted about their negative encounters with Sonya Forte Duhe, who is set to start as the journalism school’s new dean on July 1, reports the Arizona Republic.

Duhe is currently director of the School of Communication and Design at Loyola University in New Orleans.

Whitney Woods, a former Loyola student, took to Twitter to say Duhe made comments about her appearance and made racist remarks about her.
