North Carolina’s governor refused to bow to President Trump’s demand to give an immediate answer on whether the Republican National Convention could move ahead with “full attendance” in August.
Trump threatened to move the convention out of the state if Gov. Roy Cooper, a Democrat, was unable to guarantee the gathering would not have limits on attendance because of the coronavirus pandemic.
A spokesperson for Cooper said state health officials were working with the Republican National Committee, but did not say whether restrictions would be in place.
