Michael Flynn files to withdraw guilty plea

Retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn filed to withdraw his guilty plea late Tuesday.

The motion, which cites “the government’s bad faith, vindictiveness, and breach of the plea agreement,” comes one week after the Justice Department asked a federal judge to sentence President Trump’s former national security adviser to up to six months in prison.

Flynn, 61, pleaded guilty two years ago to lying to investigators about conversations he had with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak in late 2016 regarding sanctions and agreed to cooperate with then-special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian election interference.
