Court documents show a New Mexico man who murdered three family members and killed himself had post-traumatic stress disorder.
Carlos Velasquez, the 50 year-old shooter, was found dead along with Adrian Velasquez, 14, Roberto Velasquez, 22, and Marilyn Velasquez, 45, on Christmas inside their home.
“This is a tragic event for the family and for the people in our communities,” the Rio Rancho Police Department said in a Thursday statement. “Our officers and detectives understand the impact this incident has on our entire city.”
Police said they are looking to continue investigating the murder-suicide.
