Desperate search underway for over two dozen peace activists kidnapped by Taliban on Christmas Eve

The Taliban ambushed a peace convoy in western Afghanistan and abducted more than two dozen peace activists on Christmas Eve.

It forced a six-vehicle convoy to a stop in the district of Bala Buluk in Farah province on Tuesday before getting into the cars and driving them to undisclosed locations, the provincial police spokesman Mohibullah Mohib said, according to the Associated Press.
