Thieves compromised nearly 30,000 Facebook employees’ banking information by stealing several hard drives out of an accountant’s car.
Thieves broke into the car of a company accountant and stole unencrypted hard drives containing the names, bank account codes, and partial social security numbers of about 29,000 employees on Nov. 17, according to Bloomberg. The tech giant confirmed the data breach and began warning affected employees on Friday.
