Pearl Harbor shooter identified, used service rifle in shooting

The man who shot three men and then killed himself at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii has been identified.

Gabriel Romero, 22, was revealed to be the perpetrator of the Wednesday shooting that killed two men and wounded a third. He was an active-duty sailor assigned to the USS Columbia, a 360-foot submarine. The shooting took place at one of the dry docks at about 2:30 p.m. local time.

Information as to why Romero opened fire, and if the victims were targeted or random, has not yet been released. Romero used an M4 rifle to kill the victims
