Mick Mulvaney opted to not follow through on his lawsuit against Congress following a subpoena to testify as part of the impeachment hearings.
Mulvaney, 52, had attempted to join a lawsuit with former national security adviser John Bolton’s deputy Charlie Kupperman. Kupperman was suing for a judge to rule whether Congress had the power to subpoena him for testimony.
Kupperman’s attorneys, however, declined to allow Mulvaney to join the lawsuit because of the nuance between the two cases, specifically relating to comments Mulvaney made about there being a quid pro quo with Ukraine. He has since retracted those remarks.
