Marvel, shmarvel: Shortly after the MCU unloaded plans for 10 giant projects, DC’s Harley Quinn came swinging and looking for her own moment in the spotlight. On Saturday night, DC Universe debuted the first trailer for the villainess’ animated series at the streaming service’s SDCC panel. Previously at NYCC, the show got a small teaser, that nevertheless smashed through the fourth wall with an oversized hammer.
Harley Quinn is an adult comedy, focusing on Harley after she breaks up with the Joker and strikes out on her own, joining arms with Poison Army and a ragtag crew of DC castoffs, including names like Catwoman and the Scarecrow. This new trailer shows off more of the animated Gotham, the colorful villains of the Batman comics, and even the Caped Crusader himself.
The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco stars as Harley Quinn, with Lake Bell (Children’s Hospital) as Poison Ivy, Alan Tudyk (Firefly) as the Joker, and Tony Hale (Arrested Development) as Doctor Psycho. Also joining the voice cast are Wanda Sykes, Ron Funches, and Jason Alexander in yet unspecified roles.
