NEW YORK (AP) — The Latest on a New York City parade for the U.S. women’s national soccer team (all times local):
Members of the U.S. women’s soccer team are waving from floats as fans cheer and wave back during a parade in New York City’s Canyon of Heroes.
Fifteen-year-old Lily Buccholz, of Sumner, Iowa, stood by the parade route Wednesday with her family while dressed in red, white and blue.
Lily plays soccer on a club team and says, “Hopefully one day I’ll play professional.”
Earlier, team members joined New York’s governor as he signed a law expanding gender pay equality in the state.
Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo took the opportunity Wednesday to say women’s soccer players should be paid the same as male players.
