The fiancee of Nipsey Hussle, the rapper who was shot dead in the street, has said she is “completely lost” without him.
Paying tribute on social media, actress Lauren London posted several pictures of the musician on Instagram, including images of the star with their two-year-old son.
“I am completely lost. I’ve lost my best friend,” the 34-year-old said.
:: Nipsey Hussle: Man arrested in connection with rapper’s shooting
It came after police arrested a man in connection with Hussle’s death.
Eric Holder, 29, was reportedly on the run for two days before his capture in Bellflower – a Los Angeles suburb around 20 miles (32km) southeast of where the rapper was shot outside his own clothing store.
It is not known how officers found the suspect, but reports say he was detained by sheriff’s deputies until the LAPD arrived to make the arrest.
Police chief Michael Moore said the men knew each other and that they had had a “personal dispute” in the hours before the shooting.
Shortly before his death, a tweet was posted on Hussle’s official account which read: “Having strong enemies is a blessing.”
Hussle, whose real name was Ermias Davidson Asghedom, had been a figure in the West Coast hip-hop scene for more than a decade.
He released a number of mixtapes before his debut album, Victory Lap, in February, which earned him a best rap album nomination at the Grammys.
Stars including Rihanna, Pharrell Williams and Drake are among those who have paid tribute, with Williams saying he was a “positive” force who “inspired millions”.
A post-mortem revealed that he was killed by gunshots to the head and torso, and his death has been certified as homicide.
A vigil was held outside his clothing store on Monday, but the scenes turned chaotic after a stampede was triggered by reports of gunshots, which later turned out to be false.
